The End of the World is Here! (well, almost…)
So, it’s over. Kaput. The End of the World is Here. Well, so says the Mayan Calendar at any rate.
I am tempted to suggest that every major news network report cataclysmic natural disasters; tsunamis in Japan, earthquakes in California, mudslides in India. Why? Just to stir the pot.
It’s wrong, I know, but that devious part of me that loves creating fiction that is so real that you almost believe it to be true, wants to see the pandemonium that would occur on Friday, December 21st as the whole world watches fake footage of fires, floods, and funnel clouds that don’t really exist.
Now, since the networks couldn’t possibly get away with that in this day and age, as an onslaught of lawsuits would force them all into bankruptcy, I’d like to present an audio recording of the most brilliant fiction presented as fact:
THE WAR OF THE WORLDS by Orson Welles
I’m posting it today, just in case Friday never comes.
Enjoy the post, and pass it along. If you’ve never taken the time to listen to this broadcast, it is well worth it!
