DeLaura Middle School Celebrates Literacy Week

Authors, Christina Benjamin and Jaimie M. Engle of The League of Extraordinary Authors volunteered their time to speak to 500 middle school students at DeLaura Middle School in Satellite Beach, Florida yesterday.

As part of a Literacy Week celebration, the authors spent the day sharing their writing experience and the inspiration behind their stories with 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Christina Benjamin, author of the award-winning young adult fiction series, The Geneva Project, spoke about how to use your life experience to influence your writing and inspire creative ideas. “I like to encourage students to think outside the box. That’s what’s magic about writing, anything you can think of becomes a possibility.”
