The Ringer’s Masquerade features all three full length novels in the series. Devil’s Lullaby, Death’s Melody and Angel’s Requiem. Sebastian’s world is laced with inconvenient truths; mine is saturated with sweet, beautiful lies. He promises me nothing of a happy ending. Even so, the demonic spawn with an angelic voice derails my only reason for existence, but still I can’t tear my gaze away from him. His haunting stare penetrates my very being, revealing my secrets, fears, and desires. My name rolls off his tongue, tempting me to take exactly what I hungered for. Him. My curiosity will certainly be my undoing—but then again, death is inevitable….For he reveals the Ringer’s most guarded secrets—secrets they kill to keep.
The Ringer Masquerade series demanded to be written in the most beautiful written words possible. My main focus for this series was strip the characters of their humanity and see if love was truly possible. When people have nothing to lose yet everything to lose at the same time, they tend to think differently about life, love, and loss.
The premise of the story was so have clones created to save the original human. The clones are taught nothing more than want is needed to be healthy so that one day they are to be sacrificed for said human. The are holed sway in a hospital, taught nothing about the outside world, no education, nothing is as important as giving themselves up so that their injured original can live a normal life. So by sacrificing themselves, they save themselves yet destroy themselves.
Clones were never meant to have a life worth living. So when two fall in love, who should take the ultimate sacrifice? The clone? The original human? Who deems the value of a life worth living.
It brings to questions: what is a soul?
